So, here’s the thing, I actually started out as a biology major and even went to a veterinary tech-curriculum magnet high school (I was going to be a field biologist crikey). All through my life though, I drew, made comics, created projects, wrote poetry and stories, grew up in museums and loved art; so fast forward and combine that with experimenting with some friends at work and I accidentally fell in love with installation art and found myself enrolled in the Art institute of Dallas (I still have feelings for biology though shhh). I never thought I could actually pursue ar, I was heavilly discouraged and taught that only people with innate crazy talent could succeed so I put the idea to rest and in fact, I barely knew that it was even offered as a major in college so when I walked into the art institute I. was. shocked. It was a beautiful school and mostly digital-aged based. I found myself immersed in an environment full of working, successful, talented artists and encouraging peers all around. After a couple of quarters I knew I wanted to make this my life career but wasn’t quite sure what my niche was (hell, I still don’t know 100%). I wanted to pursue art further than the AI could provide and AI cost 2 arms and a first born’s leg, so after a bit of a spirit quest, I packed up all my stuff and moved from Dallas to Austin, starting over alone and kinda scared. Its a couple years later now and I’m a senior at the UT college of fine arts and that’s where the story is now…
